Welcome to Louise Pocock Millinery
"Everyone can wear a hat," says Louise. "and I believe most people can make one...There are no rules - only creative thinking and the ability to shape, mould and transform a natural fibre into a wearable work of art. Hats are essential items of clothing for wearing any day of the week and they give you added confidence. As Frank Sinatra once said, 'Cock your Hat - angles are attitudes!"
Louise fuses a sense of the vintage with a contemporary twist bringing a fresh look to the old classics. She works from her studio shop in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds on Chipping campden High Street. Louise is passionate about sharing her knowledge. "Its the 'secrets' that we need to pass on. These traditional techniques are handed down from generation to generation and we as milliners have a duty to keep this wonderful industry alive".
Louise provides millinery tuition to suit recreational, vocational and educational needs. She has now been approved as a micro centre to teach the City and Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications due to start from Feb 2016. Louise herself has gained a BA (Hons) Degree in Fashion and Textiles, City and Guilds Level 2, Level 3 and Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Creative Arts specialising in Millinery (Advanced is no longer available). This rare achievement means Louise is now one of the only tutors in the world qualified to teach City and Guilds Level 3 millinery.
Information on future classes can be seen on this website under the section 'workshops'. As well as on her social media pages of facebook and twitter.
